What is the ArtsMove incentive?
ArtsMove offers a $2500 relocation incentive, available to full- and part-time artists moving to a home within 3.5 miles of downtown Chattanooga.

Who is eligible to apply for ArtsMove?
We welcome applications from full-time and part-time, professional artists and artisans in a wide variety of creative enterprises: performing arts, 2D and 3D visual arts, literary arts, and culinary arts. Incentives are available to anyone relocating to Chattanooga from a location outside a 50-mile radius of downtown. Future renters and homeowners alike are eligible.

Who decides which artists are approved for the incentives?
The ArtsMove application process is very competitive, so we leave hard decisions in the capable hands of our jury panel. The jury panel is composed of five to seven experts in the fields of arts and culture. The panel will critically review submitted material from each applicant and work together to come to a cohesive decision regarding approval. This process is confidential.

What are your deadlines, and when do I find out if I’m approved?
ArtsMove applications are juried on a bi-monthly basis. Deadlines for ArtsMove 2010 are April 30, June 30, August 31, October 31, and December 31. You will be notified of your eligibility within 30 days of the application deadline.

What happens after I’m approved for the incentive?
After initial approval for the ArtsMove incentive, you should begin to look for a property within the ArtsMove footprint. You can also visit our Moving Guide to prepare for your relocation.

Can you help me find a realtor?
While we can’t suggest one realtor over another, we’re happy to provide you with a list of realtors familiar with both the ArtsMove incentive and the downtown area. That list is available under the Important Contacts page.

How long do I have to use my incentive once I’m awarded?
Approved applicants have up to six months after they’ve been notified to use their award reimbursement.
